RJM Systems
Indoor Air Quality

Clean air, engineered for your home.

The air inside your home can be up to 5x more polluted than the air outside. RJM designs whole-home indoor air quality systems — filtration, UV sanitization, and humidity control — so what you breathe every day is as clean as it should be.

What’s really in your air?

You can’t see it, but the air inside your home carries the things that trigger allergies, worsen asthma, dry out your skin, and spread cold and flu. HVAC filters trap some of it. Most of it, they don’t.

Mold, mildew & musty odors

Damp basements, poorly vented bathrooms, and unbalanced humidity feed mold growth.

Pollen, ragweed & leaf mold

Outdoor allergens ride the HVAC system straight into your home’s air.

Dust & pet dander

Standard HVAC filters catch particles down to a point — a lot still gets through.

Germs & airborne viruses

Cold and flu season spikes indoor concentrations. Air moves; germs move with it.

Household chemical fumes

Cleaners, paints, and building materials off-gas VOCs that linger indoors.

Dry, stale winter air

Sub-30% humidity dries out skin and airways and makes viruses more transmissible.

Signs to watch for

Sound familiar?

These are the phrases we hear on almost every indoor air consultation. Any one of them is a sign that your home’s air needs more than what your HVAC alone can deliver.

It smells musty when the AC kicks on.

There’s dust everywhere — even right after I cleaned.

I have filters. Why does my allergy season feel worse indoors?

How we fix it

The most-installed indoor air quality systems.

We select every system for real-world performance, quiet operation, and low long-term maintenance — installed to the same standard as the HVAC it lives inside.

Whole-home air filtration

Media filters, HEPA, and electronic air cleaners that capture particles down to sub-micron levels — orders of magnitude better than a standard 1" filter.

Best for

Dusty homes, pet owners, and anyone with allergies or asthma.

UV lights & air sanitizers

UV-C lamps installed at the coil or in the return neutralize mold spores, bacteria, and viruses as they circulate through your HVAC system.

Best for

Homes with recurring mold issues, humidity in the basement, or immunocompromised residents.

Whole-home humidity control

Steam humidifiers add moisture in winter; whole-home dehumidifiers pull it out in summer. Balanced humidity means fewer symptoms, better sleep, and less strain on the AC.

Best for

Old, drafty homes in winter · finished basements in summer · anyone with dry skin, static, or condensation issues.

What better indoor air actually gets you.

This isn’t about hardware for its own sake. Every IAQ system RJM installs exists to make the day-to-day of living in your home measurably better.

Healthier lungs, better allergy season

Cleaner air reduces triggers for asthma, seasonal allergies, and everyday respiratory irritation.

Fewer illnesses in the household

Neutralizing airborne pathogens and balancing humidity means less transmission in winter months.

A more comfortable home

Balanced humidity, cleaner surfaces, and better temperature consistency across every room.

Cleaner surfaces & fewer odors

Less airborne dust means less settling on furniture, floors, and inside the ductwork.

What is indoor air quality?

Indoor air quality (IAQ) describes the condition of the air inside your home — the level of pollutants, humidity, and airborne biology present at any given time. Well-designed IAQ combines filtration, sanitization, and moisture control so the air you breathe indoors is measurably cleaner than the air outside your front door.

Frequently asked

Indoor air quality questions we get most.

Do I really need indoor air quality upgrades if I already have HVAC filters?

A standard 1-inch HVAC filter is designed to protect the equipment, not you. It catches large debris but does very little for allergens, mold spores, germs, or humidity. IAQ systems are engineered specifically for what you breathe.

What is the difference between duct cleaning and an IAQ system?

Duct cleaning is reactive — it removes what already accumulated. An IAQ system is proactive — it filters, sanitizes, or humidifies continuously, so contamination never builds up in the first place. Think mop vs. spill prevention.

Will an IAQ system make my home more comfortable?

Yes. Comfort is not just temperature. Balanced humidity, cleaner air, and fewer irritants mean better sleep, fewer symptoms, and a home that feels genuinely better to live in.

How much maintenance do these systems require?

Minimal. Most systems just need periodic filter changes or a UV bulb replacement once a year — RJM handles it as part of an active ProCare Membership so you never have to think about it.

Could my indoor air be making me sick?

It can. If you feel more tired, congested, or sneezy indoors than outdoors — especially seasonally — indoor air is a strong suspect. A free consultation gives you clear answers before you commit to anything.
